He was certainly a little trooper....My little guy is a fighter and a survivor...and I'm just thankful to have this morning behind us.....BUT....He sure was told HOW CUTE HE WAS...by lots of nurses... :)
Once he was under...he was taken to get his CT scan done...It was a surreal moment seeing him placed in the machine so lifeless...And as this giant machine took images of him at one of the best children's hospital around...I was overcome with tears as I THOUGHT about HOW far he had come...HOW just in December I found him STARVED and barely alive...HOW fast our adoption went....and HOW I hugged a birth mom just a couple of weeks ago in a third world country and told her I would get him the BEST possible care I could.....that he would have the BEST possible life I could give him!! AND HERE HE WAS!!! And, all I could do was think of HER!! Praying she knows that HE WILL BE OK NOW......and that he is LOVED and CHERISHED beyond words.
My sweet little man rolled to his belly as he was coming to......I mean...do you get any cuter than this!!!!!??
My sweet little man rolled to his belly as he was coming to......I mean...do you get any cuter than this!!!!!??
Overall, everthing went well...He also got his body xrayed to see about his diagnosis of Rickets..and a huge PRAISE is that his Rickets is now GONE!! They did discover some other issues...but I'd consider them minor...all related to his severe malnutrition....We see a specialist on Wednesday that will read our ct scan and tell us what to expect in that area...When I know these details..I will let you all know!! Thank you so much for your prayers and sweet comments.....It means the world to know SO many people FROM across the world are praying for our little guy.... God has BIG plans for my sweet boy..and I'm just amazingly blessed to be able to be his Momma!! Happy Thursday to you all, kj
So glad everything went ok today - he is absolutely precious! :)
ReplyDeletePraising God that Wes's rickets are gone! Such a sweet little!
ReplyDeleteSo glad everything went well. He looks so sweet curled up on his tummy. I love it when little ones sleep like that.
ReplyDeleteYay!! SO glad everything went great today! I love the precious pictures of him asleep! Will continue to pray for sweet Wes!
ReplyDeleteSo glad it went well! Praise God for no more rickets- Jonathan had that too when he came home :(. PRAYING for HEALING of everything for Wes!!!! He is soooo adorable!!
ReplyDeletePraise God for all he has done for Wes!! We just found out a couple weeks ago that Mareto's rickets are all gone too! :):):) We were ecstatic!
ReplyDeleteOur son from ET was severely malnourished as well, just 16 pounds at
ReplyDelete2 1/2 years old. He was in 6-12 month clothes and could barely walk. After almost a year home we are still dealing with medical issues but God has been faithful and he is making huge progress.
I'm praying for Wes as well and would love to chat with you someday about the medical care you are getting and compare. Sometimes I feel like I'm blindly going through this... we see a specialist in a few weeks that we hope can pull it all together and connect the dots of all the specialists we currently have.

So happy for you Kristi! I prayed hard and I knew little Wes was going to be covered with prayer and love today. What a fighter. Blessings to you all!
ReplyDeleteGood job, mama! It takes A LOT to get through something like that. Praise to the Ultimate Healer! Take care!
ReplyDeleteso thankful he is doing okay. i'm sure that was hard on both of you. i know god will guide you as you care for his needs.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to read that you are now in the comforts of home again. Wes is adorable - love the peaceful sleepy pictures too. Praying for wisdom in the diagnosis and continued great news!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristi!
ReplyDeleteSo glad he is doing ok! He is a true fighter! And on these occasions, mommies have to be too. (I am babbling this but I am the sort of mom who wells up whenever my baby boy ,now 5 had his shoots and looked at me crying as if saying :”how can you let them do this to me!?”). He is a sweetie pie, your Wes. He is already looking chubbier!( I love to fatten my babies up as well ;). Wes used to look so skinny back in Ethiopia…but he looks like another baby now :). I sponsor a little girl in India that is 12 years old. But because of malnourishment, she looks 8 or 9…It is heart breaking.
Many blessings to you and your family, and may God continue to light Wes’s path as He has so far.
Sara, in Lisbon.
Kristi,
ReplyDeleteGlad all went well for little Wes. The tummy sleeping shots are just too cute. I thought of you last Saturday night as we spent the night in Franklin/Cool Springs on our way home from Florida.
Praise the Lord that he came through just fine! He is such a little trooper. Praying now that the Lord would grant wisdom and discernment as you get him the best care possible!!!
ReplyDeleteThank God all went well, continued prayers for more good news as other tests come. I know how scary it was when our little man went through all of his testing. Your little Wes is beautiful, you can say that about boys when their that little, ha!!
