The 'Wes' SnowMan...... :) (updated with one final pic)

I woke to our backyard looking like this:

So, I'm the kinda Momma that gets piles ready like this:
And, the littles wake, eat some fast breakfast and hit the front yard hill first:
My 5 yr. old son makes a "snow angel"
The hubby comes home from work early so he can hit the front hill too:
My 5 yr. old son is disappointed in his Snow Angel (story of our life :)....
We get full crying OUT IN THE SNOW over a snow angel UNTIL i remind him that his face might freeze like that....
So, we come in and warm up with some SNOW CREAM:
I throw the wet gloves in the dryer and it's back out to build a snow man:
And, the kids WARM MY HEART cause they say they "put a baseball cap on him" cause it is a "WES SNOWMAN" !!!! Yes, they are excited to get their new little brother home....
LL says, "It's WAY TOO COLD"...and prefers playing with a toothbrush at the door instead....
She gives it ONE TRY and says, "Momma...my DNA is NOT made for this...."
My 3 yr. old George doesn't like it either...He comes back in after one minute to join LL:
And, there you have it...Kids will probably be out of school ALL WEEK cause of this...so fun!!!! We did the SNOW dance last night...hoping and praying it would snow!!! Hope yall are havin some fun where ever it is YOU CALL HOME!! :)
*Happy Monday to you all, kj

ps...here's the final "wes" snowman...can you make out his name that the kid's put on him?? Oh, we LOVE him SO already!! :)

  3. Oh, I WISH we had gotten this snow!! We are out of school today, but you can see from my blog post today that the snow didn't quite happen here! :) And I am laughing, b/c I think our 5 year old boys are a lot alike! :)

  6. ADORABLE!!!! Hannah is not the fan of the snow either. They are still adjusting to the cold. Their noses run like faucets out in the cold, but Chloe doesn't mind the snow. :) We are getting snow tomorrow... the kids can't wait!

  10. Wow, that's a lot of snow for TN! I have to say I'm always amazed to see southerners who have snow boots for their children. I complain constantly over having to buy expensive snow boots every winter and bibs etc and it snows all the time here. I grew up in Nashville and never owned a pair of snow boots. Makes me wonder if I'm missing out on the right place to buy boots. Or do other people just make their kids where them all the time to get their use out of them... uggh the snow gear conundrum - don't even get me started on mittens/gloves for 2yr olds that actually are functional! LL is smart - playing in the cold just wasn't meant for toddlers.
You guys look like your really had a great time.

Here in MN we had a couple inches yesterday, a few more inches are expected today and the kids are all in school. :) I know the difference is we have plows/equipment but it still makes me smile that ya'all have grass showing through and school is cancelled...lol. Love the Wes snowman! Brings back memories of my boys making an Abby snowgirl while we waited!!!!

  17. I LOVE your blog and your heart for orphans!!! I wanted to share this story with you in hopes of getting the word out for this sweet child. There is a boy who is about to age out of the system in Latvia who is in DESPERATE need of a forever family!! His story is so sad. He was part of a host program in the US this summer and was told he was going to be adopted by a family he met. They recently decided not to adopt him, just days before he turns 16 (on Jan. 23rd). He will soon be on his own with no life skills or ability to get a job, no food, shelter, etc. He is very small for his age and looks like a 9 or 10 year old, which will make being on his own even harder for him. Please pray for him with me and share this story in any way you think would be helpful. This situation is urgent and looks hopeless but we serve a MIGHTY GOD!!! http://iwillbeacarrier.blogspot.com/2011/01/davids-story-urgent-need.html

  19. How sweet! =) Totally jealous of the snow. How is it that TN has had my DREAM weather this year and I'm stuck in the Pacific NW with nothing but RAIN!?!? Ugh. I'm moving! LOL!
