Wow...Our Video Went Over 20,000...Let's Celebrate!!

Wow...I can't believe that our VIDEO has had over 20,000 hits now on youtube!! That blows my mind!! I give all Glory to God because we never would have been on this journey if HE HADN'T LAID IT ON OUR HEARTS in the first place!!! Secondly, I give a HUGE special thanks to my local bff Karen!!! My girl Karen (who I've been friends with since our FIRSTS were born) made this video for us!! It seemed like such a simple thing when she offered such a gift when we arrived home!! She knew I was suppose to share "our journey of faith" with our Sunday School Class and she got the video ready for me to share that day!! I had NO IDEA the way God would use this sucker!! I mean, seriously, every day someone emails me and blows my mind with their incredible HEARTS, FAITH, and LOVE for the orphan and adoption!! And, how do these people usually find me?? From "THE VIDEO"!!! I certainly NEVER want to take any of the credit for it...GOD USED MY FRIEND KAREN THAT NIGHT to create something that would stir the hearts of people (or wreck people's hearts as I've heard it put) FOR THE ORPHAN!!! Karen created EVERY SINGLE bit of that video WITH NO HELP FROM ME AT ALL!!! I'm VERY computer and tech challenged...just ask anyone that knows me!!! :) The coolest part: Karen is adopted herself!!! She has a heart for this since she too was born and WAITED for someone to come along and PICK HER!!! And, man, did she ever win the award on GREAT PARENTS!!! She has the sweetest momma and daddy you've ever seen!! Her momma even came to our Gold Party Fundraiser with her jewelry box in hand and sold some of her most prized possessions JUST FOR OUR ADOPTION!!! So, you see...God knew Karen's heart..and used her to capture a MIRACLE and put it to MUSIC!!! So, that's the story of THE VIDEO...AND.....to THANK the LORD for continuing to use it, AND to thank Karen for all her hard work on it....I thought I'd post it again...and have a CONTEST!!!!!

The Contest/Celebration is EASY!!! Just leave me a comment and I'll put all the names in a hat and draw a name out to win a 147millionorphan Tshirt!!!! I thought this prize was fitting since I pray God will continue to use our adoption, our video our lives UNTIL ALL 147 Million Orphans have a home to call their own!!!! :)

So, leave me a comment and I'll draw a name on Sunday night!!! Maybe I'll even draw two names if i'm feeling happy!!! :)

Thanks to you all for spreading the word, sharing our video and being advocates for the orphans yourself!!! There is just a PEACE you have when you have found YOUR CALLING and your PASSION!!! Happy Friday to you all, kj

  2. That is too funny! I just re-watched it the other day!!! I 've seen it a couple of times now. I am having one done for our sweet Harrison here in the next month by a friend at church too!! We look to get our home study updated at the same time we do our 6 month post-placement for Harrison and we'll be hopping back on the adoption train...headed again for Ethiopia. Remeber we started there and then AGCI sent out an email that changed our lives forever titled, The One Who Waits - Taiwan. From that day, we've been blessed with an amazing son!! :o)

  3. exciting stuff!! We plan to have our homestudy updated to start the next adoption at Harrison's 6 month post placement next month!! We're headed to Ethiopia :o) Who knows where we'll end up. Remember we applied with AGCI for the Ethiopia program and shortly after we got an email with the subject~ The One Who Waits -TAIWAN...that was the day that we saw our sons face for the 1st time and the Lord directed our paths to Taiwan instead :o)

  7. I watched the video just days after you returned home with Lucy Lane and have been following your blog ever since. You are an amazing woman and such and inspiration to me. I look forward to continuing to follow along.

We brought home our daughter from China in May of 08 and will be bringing our son home in April of 10. We are currently having a fundraiser on our blog if you want to check it out.

    God Bless,

  9. Kristi...I don't think I've ever commented. I wanted to take this moment to tell you how good God is (doesn't hurt I might win a shirt too, right?!:D). I have always wanted to adopt. My grandfather was a missionary in Africa. He started an orphanage and Christian college there. I remember at the tender age of 12 seeing a picture of my tall prominent Grandpa standing among the throngs of little African children...all smiling and hugging my Papa. At that moment God spoke in my heart. 7 mission trips later, getting married and having a biological daughter my husband and I felt God was saying to us "NOW" is the time to adopt. Well fast forward about 14 months and we are in the stage of preparing to travel to get our sweet boy. (praying US Embassy confirms our groups appointments Monday!)
Although I was inspired long ago, your blog has been an encouragement to me as I see the aftermath of your adoption. It's a joy to me and a reminder of what all the hardships are for and the WAITING...I can't wait to be in that stage of this process. Thank you for your heart passion to help orphans. God bless you and yours. :D

  11. That is truly amazing. It really is a privilege that God will use us to do something with so much impact as a part of his plan. A friend, not knowing what I was feeling today, sent me to this website to look at a video. While I was there, I 'stumbled' upon this today at a moment when I started having doubts about whether God really wanted 'us' to adopt....http://www.newspring.cc/study/one/day/just-do-it/

What an awesome God we serve. So glad you and your family are able to be a part of this amazing story that is touching so many lives...and who knows but God how He will use little Miss Lucy to impact His kingdom as she grows into a young woman. What a beautiful love story.

  18. Awwww, you are the sweetest friend. You and I both know that God had a lot to say that week as the video was born...he inspired the STEW out of me!!! I was the vessel, girl! And I couldn't be more proud to be part of the adoption "movement" you have created! Love you, love your family and love to see what God is doing! Your passion is certainly infectious!

  20. I will never forget how emotional I was after seeing your video for the first time. I don't even remember how I ran across it. I was adopted and always fantasized about adopting, but after having 3 of my own, never thought it would come true. But, I will honestly say that something about Lucy Lane's video, it stirred my heart. I thought maybe I was just supposed to help others who were adopting, so I would raise what I could through my boutique sales and give it to adopting families. Then out of the blue, I just felt like I was being led to adopt, so we are in the praying stages.

I thought Ethiopia was where we were supposed to go, but today I read your sister's post about how agencies are having a hard time finding homes for AA children, and it really spoke to me. I don't know where He will lead us, but I do know that you and your group of adopting families is changing the world and it is such a beautiful thing to witness!

  37. I have two children adopted internationally. One wonderful daughter is from Vietnam and the other from Guatemala. I started the journey after my husband died and never thought I'd go for another. You know as well as I do, though, that God's plans don't always match our own. Can't imagine my life without either. I have been following your blog for awhile now and love hearing about your work. Blessings to you and your family.

  41. if i could only put into words what your video has stirred in my heart...
i struggled with infertility and began seriously considering adoption. then after 3 1/2 years i got pregnant (my daughter is now 7 months old). funny thing is that i still couldn't get the idea of adoption off my mind. i have been praying to God asking him to show me, to tell me what he wants for our family. then about a month ago, i literally accidently stumbled upon your video. and wept. and prayed. and wept some more. it was the final piece that answered the nagging question. and of course, the answer was a resounding yes! yes, God wants us to adopt! and yes! it must be from ethiopia. since that day a month ago, i have watched your video probably 10 times and i imagine myself in your shoes... i can't wait for the day. i need to get through the baby stage with my daughter (she's still not sleeping and just wants to nurse all day!!), but then our journey will begin. thank you from the bottom of my heart for playing such a crucial role. one of these days, i'll be posting my own video for all the world to see! God bless you for the hope and message that you bring.

  50. It is a pleasure to watch God use you and your family! Who would of thought all you girls would have grown up to be such World Changers :) Can't wait to see what new doors open in all your lives.

I began reading some blogs of people I knew just to keep up, not because I was on the adoption wagon. God used them to open my eyes and heart to the need and I soon began asking myself what was my part or what did God have for our family. I still wasn't sure if we were suppose to adopt, but was praying for direction. God opened my eyes to the need around me and you know the rest of the story. God is faithful to direct us to what he has if we respond to the tug on our heart and trust Him for the rest. Halle's adoption will be official next month :)

    Love you family,
    Shelley

I'm not much of a blog commenter--more of a silent reader and watcher, but your blog sure had been an encouragement to me. We've also shown your video to many people--especially ones who look at us like we're crazy when we share our plans with them (we're in the process of adopting siblings from Ethiopia). We just send them a link to your video knowing that it explains our hearts perfectly. Thanks for all that you're doing for "the least of these". You are a blessing!

  60. That amazing video is something I feel the need to watch every month or so! :) It opened my heart (not to adoption...) to Africa. It's the ONLY video I've ever gotten my hubby to watch about adoption. He feels bombarded by my prodding at times. ;) But your video stirred his heart to at least understand my desires. That's a step in the right direction! lol I even posted it to my blog and our adoption advocacy blog to share it with even more people. Lucy's life is going to leave such a legacy. In sooo many ways! What a blessing she is to so many.

Your testimony is one of several (that whole TN crowd you have going on up there :) ) that became the beautiful threads in a tapestry that the Lord has wrapped around my husband and I, letting us know that His plan is to keep growing our family (now 5 strong) through His miracle of adoption. We are waiting to see where hubbie's job lands us, so we CAN ORDER OUR Hstudy!!!! Better learn to smile & trust while waiting, right?? So much love for the Body of Christ especially the part serving Orphans.

Just wanted to thankyou from the bottom of my heart for sharing this video...here is a tiny God story, the day my husband and I officially decided to adopt was last november, we sat in the kitchen at my mothers sharing our plans with her. I got on youtube and typed in gotcha day, and lucy lanes was the first one that came up...the 3 of sat and cried as we watched your video, our hearts were sold. A couple of days later I come home telling my hubby of this amazing agency that I found online, and about their incredible orphanage in Ethiopia Hannahs Hope and he immediately responded with thats All Gods Children, he had found the same agency and was waiting to tell me about it!! Fast forward a couple more days and we are watching LLs gotcha day again and I see those infamous red gates that say All Gods Children...I knew that God had our hearts EXACTLY where they needed to be!
    THANKS SO MUCH!!
we have to wait until July to apply with AGCI due to the age requirements for the ethiopia program but our hearts are already so involved in the process. cant wait to share our gotcha day as we bring home our first born child!

  97. Wow. I know you say all the time how the video has impacted so many, and often you share those stories with me, but to see so many in one place? I am moved to tears (of joy and utter humility for our God's power) reading all of these comments. Who knew when I offered to make a 'little video' to compile LL's homecoming and your journey what God had in store? I am humbled and grateful beyond measure for the legacy that LLs story already has! Ever so glad that JL and our firstborns brought us together all those years ago. Love you!

  101. This is the first time I have commented, even though I've enjoyed your blog for several months. A friend, in the process of adopting from Ethiopia, provided a link to your video on her site. I am blessed every time I view it. May God continue to bless you and your dear family.

  104. Congrats on the 20,000 hits. I am so happy that God placed Lucy Lane's video before us. Because we are now on our way to Elijah and two because we now have your family as our friends.
    Blessings,

  110. I love checking in on your blog with my cup of coffee in hand! My daughter loves to read over my shoulder:)
Our family is in process (top of the list) with Buckner/Dillon to adopt a little girl from Ethiopia. I traveled to Addis Ababa on a mission trip in Nov 08 and we started our paperwork immediately when I arrived home.
I am always sending people who ask me about adoption to YOUR blog. (I have been a blog-chicken thus far but) I am FINALLY starting my blog (after a little prodding) and some help (I am computer challenged). My hubby is concerned about posting pics of the kids and names on the internet. Could you PLEASE email me with any suggestions or input in this department. I truly believe God does use adoptive families and their adoption stories to bless and lead others. I of course want to be 'safe' and honor my hubby's concerns.
I prayed often for you guys when you had to go 'private' for a while. I was THRILLED when I finally checked back in and saw your blog again. Praising God for his covering.
My email is donna.purdy@hotmail.com Thank you so much. I will send you a link when I get it all set up.
