My GIFT Arrived AND A MUST SEE VIDEO!!

Ok, so my 10 year anniversary gift (my anniversary was in JULY..yes a little late :) PLUS my combined Christmas gift FROM MY HUBBY arrived today!!! My hubby took the idea from a kind blogger friend that suggested my hubby make my blog into a book for me....It took him a while to actually get it ordered...but he finally did, and it arrived today!!

I've blogged so much that it took 4 VOLUMES!! LOL. I absolutely LOVE it and will cherish these books forever...They are truly 4 books full of my family and what we did for the ENTIRE ADOPTION PROCESS FOR LUCY LANE!! It begins from MY FIRST EVER POST...until WE'RE HOME safe and sound with LL!! Thanks so much HUBBY!! I love them!!!! My hubby ordered them at http://www.blog2print.com/ if ya want to know!! :)

***OK, so here is a MUST SEE VIDEO if you haven't seen it yet on anyone else's blog...It is so touching and REALLY speaks to your heart!!! It is so worth the few minutes it takes to watch it...(pause my music at the bottom of the page)

As the video stated...There are over 500,000 children waiting in our American Foster Care System...WAITING for their forever family to give them a chance....You can call the 1-800 # on the video OR you can always visit http://www.adoptuskids.org/ to view 1000's of waiting children in our US Foster Care System!!! Oh, how I wish I could adopt them all!!!

***Thank you for all your prayers for the SISTERS I posted about last night...I'm praying that 2010 is THEIR year where they WAIT no longer!!!

Happy Wednesday to you all, kj

What If.....

What if...
No one cared that you had been born?
No one saw your first smile or encouraged your first steps?
You never felt a mother's love or a father's embrace?
You longed for a family that never came and hoped for a home that lived only in your dreams?
Orphaned children all over the world are waiting...hoping...praying that they will become dear to someone. That somewhere there will be one special family that finds delight and great joy in welcoming them into their home! Each one waits expectantly, with a hopeful heart for a family to come, each tiny soul daring to silently rehearse secret dreams for the future... Is there room in your heart for a waiting child?
(taken from the AGCI web site)

**What is this above pic??? It is TWO SISTERS embraced in a hug....TWO SISTERS waiting on the AGCI wait list...WAY TOO LONG!!! Now I haven't checked in with anyone during the holidays, but I'm guessing since I haven't heard, that BOTH sets of sisters at AGCI are still waiting....SO, before 2009 comes to an end...I wanted to bring them to life for you ONE MORE TIME!! Here's the SCOOP:

***There are TWO sets of sisters on the "wait list" for agci right now!! One set is 8 and 11 and the other set is said to be 9 and 11!!! These are REAL LIVE CHILDREN sitting in an orphanage waiting and dreaming about their new family. BOTH sets of sisters have LOST both of their parents....SO, they are considered full orphans!! All four girls are HEALTHY and HAPPY and adjusting well....They love sports, school, friends, etc....just like my own children at home do!! I pray tonight that someone will read this and pass it along until it reaches the RIGHT PERSON God has intended for these children. Now, just to clarify...these are two separate sets of sisters...they are not related to one another!!! They just happen to be the same age and have similar stories...I know God is making my heart hurt for these children for a REASON...I know TOGETHER we can make a difference in the Orphan Crisis of the world...ONE CHILD AT A TIME!!!

*** Please join me in praying these WAITING CHILDREN to their forever families!!! AND, if you'd like to inquire about EITHER set of sisters....PLEASE CONTACT:

.... Megan Palmer, her email is mpalmer@allgodschildren.org or by phone at 971-244-1461. If you have any additional questions for me....you can email me at weloveourlucy@gmail.com

***AND I encourage you all to LOOK THROUGH the waiting children's lists at AGCI and ALL other agencies too...You never know when God will speak to you about a certain child you may run across!! That is HOW my sister found her son, Nathan!!

**Thank you ALL for your prayers for these SISTERS!! They have no idea the amount of people praying for them tonight....I pray they feel a sense of PEACE wash over them as they live another day clinging to one another...the only family they have left....that is UNTIL YOU COME ALONG!!! kj

But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Cheeto Hands In The Laundry!!! :)

Well, I'm going to kick off tonight's post with sending you all to a few different sites:

1. First, head on over to http://www.joiningthejourney.blogspot.com/ to read a FABULOUS post that speaks right to my heart!! I mean, I WISH I could write that well...but since I can't..then I'll send you on over to my friend Suzanne's blog to read HER GREAT POST!! :) I mean, if I were going to do a post...that's what I'd want it to say!!!

2. Head on over to my sister's blog: http://www.ordinaryheroblog.blogspot.com/ to see the wonderful art she is selling. As yall know, she runs Ordinary Hero and she is always trying to come up with MORE ways to raise money for her non-profit...So, selling her Ethiopian Art is ONE of her ways to raise money for her organization...I can't wait to get me a pic...I'll post it as soon as I get it....

3. We'll be hitting the 300,000th HIT soon.....so...I just wanted to let you all know that WHO EVER hits the BIG NUMBER will be getting a 147 Million Orphan tshirt from my friend Gwen at http://www.147millionorphans.com/ By the time we hit the BIG NUMBER, we'll have to see what she has in stock to see WHAT exact shirt you'll be winning :) It is always guaranteed to be CUTE, no matter what :) So...make sure you let me know IF you are the big HIT!!

4. Watch for the upcoming post on BLOG SAFETY!! I've had MANY readers request some tips, so I'll be posting that soon...just wanted to let ya know that I'm hearing ya :)

5. FOLLOWERS....I had to lose my "old" blog follower collection when I left my OLD blog private. I'm probably confusing yall, but I changed the name of my old blog so it could go private and had to quickly REGRAB my weloveourlucy address so I wouldn't lose it....So, I'm NOT posting to the private account...AND, you'll have to resign up as a follower if you were ONE before....even though it is the SAME address you knew before...Does that make sense?? :)

(pics removed for safety reasons)

***Happy Monday to you all, kj

May I be awestruck by God's splendor and beauty. Creating God, all things came into being through you. Bring new life into being inside of me, that I may better reflect your hope, your love, and your grace to those around me. Let Christ be born in me today. AMEN

I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations. Isaiah 61:10-11

20 Years Ago Today...

20 years ago TODAY my family changed FOREVER in an INSTANT!! It was 20 years ago today that my big sister Kelly fell victim to a stranger child abduction!! She's that rare percentage that actually survived to tell her story...AND, today, 20 years later, she is STILL telling her story in order to bring HOPE to those that have also fallen victim to violent crimes AND SURVIVED!!

She was 16 at the time and I was 15.....It was a horrific crime and the two men responsible are still in prison to this day (Praise God!! ) Yes, as a family we were changed forever...but as an individual, my sister now uses her experience to CHANGE THE WORLD!! She traveled with me in June to Ethiopia to get my baby girl, Lucy Lane!! She used her photography skills to photograph ALL the waiting children and came back home AND got them ALL placed with her great pics!! And, today 20 years later, I'm grateful that her life was spared that cold winter day because I know so many others aren't so lucky!! I can't imagine ALL the LIVES that would have missed out on her acts of kindness IF she had not survived that night!!And, above, you have a pic of our family with my Mom and Dad!!

And, after a recent trip BACK to Africa for a third time in ONE year...My sister is making a difference in this world.....PLEASE go watch the video she made in my last post...It will truly touch you!! Or click http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqdezxonPUU to watch it. Kelly's all about helping others and making a difference!! AND, her latest efforts of helping a homeless family will bring you to tears...She just made the video and I posted it last night if you want to watch!!

***Ok, so you can read my sister's story at www.ordinaryheroblog.blogspot.com She wrote a beautiful post about her night 20 years ago today. She also has a link to the 700 Club where they aired her story this past year!! If you've been reading for more than a year, then you may remember me posting her story last year...either way, Kelly wrote a great post if you are in for a good read!!

***May you all find HOPE and LIGHT in your darkness....just as my sister did!!

Christmas Day 2009, PUKE, (and a GREAT video)

Well, Christmas was wonderful, magical (and full of PUKE) this year!! It was truly a wonderful day filled with laughter, fun, and family EVEN though my 4 yr. Hal woke up with a stomach virus and puked all day....You'd have to know my hubby and know HOW proud he is of his "mini van"...Yes, I drive a massive big truck and he drives a MINI VAN that I swear he loves as much as ME!! :) So, can you see where this is going?? He doesn't let the kids make any messes in his pride and joy van!! They tear my truck apart, but his van must stay "LIKE BRAND NEW"!! So, we enjoyed our morning at home and were heading to Kentucky (in my hubby's van) when Hal decides he REALLY needed to empty his stomach and get that last HUGE puke out to make himself feel better....He projectiled EVERYWHERE! All over HIM, THE SEATS, the FLOOR, ME...It was a HUGE amount and I wish I had a video camera to witness Daddy's face!! HILARIOUS!! I told him it served him right for being so "prideful" of that van :) Hal is feeling much better now and he hasn't puked again since in THE VAN!! It was a short lived virus!! :) (But man, that van stinks now :)

***Ok, so here are some pics from our Christmas morning at home:

(pics have been deleted for safety reasons)

A pic with my Dad and all my sisters....It is me on the end at 35, then Kasey at 33, my Dad, then Karson prego at 30, and Kelly at 36. And, i didn't get a pic of my mom who hosted us all...Sorry Mom...we SO appreciate you having us all over!! (Yes, my Dad still comes to my mom's house for Christmas even though they divorced when I was like 5 or 6 :)

Aunt Kasey and her kiddos loving on LL!!

*****We laughed a lot and enjoyed way too much food and then grabbed some coffee and headed home!! We basically cleaned house all day today, but stopped for a minute to grab some dinner out....I took this one pic below from dinner tonight....George was being such a ham...He wouldn't leave LL's side and kept smiling that HUGE smile so i'd keep taking pics of him next to her....LL thought it got a little OLD!!! :)
(deleted pic)

****Ok, so forget all that I just showed ya...Do you want to witness the TRUE MEANING of Christmas....Check out this video below that my sister Kelly made....She organized another apartment for a former "homeless" woman and her MANY children this Christmas...The story is amazing!! She showed up last year on Christmas Day bearing gifts to give this family to find that the mom was busy cooking dinner for the kids AND THAT WAS THEIR GIFT!! She only had enough money to make them a Christmas meal....SO, this year, they are in a new apartment after being back at the shelter for a while AND she and her kids just moved in and never got organized or unpacked because she was 9 months pregnant....Kelly lets her know that she and her team of elves will be there on Wednesday to organize her new apartment for her, but the MOm goes into labor and misses it all...Well, during the day Kelly is at her apartment, the baby is born BUT BORN SICK!! It requires surgery right away and there Kelly is at her apartment with all her other kids as they hear the news about the baby and they stop and PRAYED FOR THE NEW BABY with all the other siblings left at home!! It was just one of those God moments where my sister and her crew show up at the exact right time and God uses them to comfort and protect those other children at home that were left worried and crying for their new baby...so neat!!! (and not to mention that her new apartment was left looking fabulous :) (you'll want to pause my music to hear hers)

**Helping others is truly what IT'S all about!!! Hope you all had a blessed Christmas...AND, happy Saturday to you all, kj

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life-- and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us-- what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas (EVE)!!

We've had a great day together on this Christmas Eve...We attended our church's Christmas Eve service this afternoon AND as you can see from the above pic, our little one's were TIRED tonight....I couldn't help but get teary eyed today during the service as I held Lucy Lane in her matching Christmas dress and THOUGHT of HOW different her life was ONE YEAR AGO!! It was hearing the story of Mary being turned away and finding shelter to deliver her baby that brought the tears to my eyes....I could only picture Lucy Lane as such a new born this time last year being held tight by her birth mother as she went from place to place, home to home trying to find SOMEONE to help her care for her baby...She was such a young mom desperate to provide for the baby she loved so dearly....I don't know very much about those 3 or 4 months she cared for her baby she named "Martha"...but I know she did a great job and our baby's ability to LOVE, LAUGH and BE SO SILLY is proof of that!! :) So, on this Christmas Eve night I give thanks to God that Jesus was born in a manger, AND that ONE YEAR AGO tonight my baby girl was able to find shelter with her mom as their days together were numbered...I pray she feels my prayers tonight being lifted up for her...so she can some how know HOW happy her baby girl is...AND just how much we cherish her!!!
The kids got to open their annual ONE GIFT on Christmas Eve which is always their matching Christmas jammies....I guess Helen got smart this year because she announced that she KNEW it was going to be PJ's...Oh, well...I knew they'd figure out my plan some day :)
(deleted pics)

AND, the Johnsons want to wish you all a VERY Merry Christmas......We're counting our many blessings this year and give ALL thanks to God for His faithfulness!! Having my 5 children home and healthy and together this Christmas Eve is all ONE Momma could ever want or need :) Happy Thursday to you all, kj
(Christmas 2009: Helen 7, Julia 6, Hal 4, George 2 and Lucy lane 1)

"May I receive God’s blessing. Light of lights, I sit in comfortable darkness, knowing that you will soon arrive. Make me ready to receive your blessings and share the good news of your arrival. Come soon, Holy One. AMEN

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."
Therefore Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labor gives birth and the rest of his brothers return to join the Israelites.
He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.
And he will be their peace. Micah 5:2-5"

God Will Use YOU!!!

Do you remember this pic from a couple of weeks ago?? Well, I posted that night about us "Aunts" taking out my nieces for their annual birthday dinner at one of the local Italian restaurants...Well....we were the only family in the room we were seated in UNTIL another large family got seated RIGHT BEHIND US....There were a couple of older grandmothers in the group that smiled and watched Lucy Lane "learning" to walk up and down the restaurant. Ok, so I didn't think much of it UNTIL I got the email below:

"Kristi,
I just wanted to tell you how God used your family to bless my family this week. On Monday night my aunt and uncle took my grandmother to B Restaurant for my cousin's birthday party. My grandmother has not been in full support of our adoption - partly it's a generational prejudice about adoption and partly it's a racial thing. After the evening, my grandmother told my mom that they had seen a beautiful family with two precious girls dressed in Christmas dresses along with another little girl who was black. She was really interested in the family and watched them through the evening. She told my mom that it was a great family and that maybe it isn't so "weird" or uncommon to adopt transracially. That is huge! When my mom told me about this, I knew exactly who it was because I had read your blog from Monday. I just wanted you to know that your family makes a difference just by being who you are out in the community. Thank you!

S"

www.goseeklove.com

****Isn't God just the COOLEST!!!! It is such a reminder to me that GOD intended for me to do so much more than to just adopt ONE child...He intended for me to come home and keep the RIPPLE EFFECT going...because adoption can/and does have a RIPPLE EFFECT!! Every time someone says "YES" to God's calling on their life to give an orphan a family...SOMEONE else is guaranteed to do it too!! I was determined upon my return from Africa to NOT forget what I saw...to help those we left behind...AND as I had the opportunity to speak at my church AGAIN this past Sunday, I saw the impact, once again, it has to SHARE your story!! I saw tears flowing and God touching people's hearts for adoption!! It is an amazing miracle to witness, no matter HOW many times you see it!! I saw a scripture today on a friend's blog that said it perfectly:

Deuteronomy 4:9 says, "Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them."

So..that's WHY I'm still blogging today...to bring light to the orphans of the world STILL WAITING...AND to fulfill God's calling on my life: TO NOT FORGET....AND TO SPREAD THE WORD!!! Oh, and I'm good at spreading the word :) I LIKE TO TALK!!! Ask my poor sister who traveled with me to Ethiopia to get LL...She was stuck with me in close quarters traveling for over 30 hours...BOTH WAYS :) Poor thing...I thought she might resort to hitting me like she used to do when we were kids to GET ME TO BE QUIET :) LOL

**SPEAKING OF SPREADING THE WORD....Check out http://www.thestoryoflily.blogspot.com/ OR http://www.thechristmasmiracleproject.blogspot.com/ to see how an ordinary mom is doing extraordinary things to bring in the money to help OTHERS adopt!! She has already adopted ONCE, but is now determined to help others raise the money to adopt...She has a GREAT idea..check it out!!!

***Gotta run...more presents to wrap...My hubby is a "wrapping maniac"...Phewww...there's LOTS to wrap with 5 kiddos this year :) (ok, so we seriously wrap up pairs of socks so the kids have LOTS to keep them busy opening presents...we could seriously wrap up a rock and they wouldn't care..they're at a great age :)

Happy Tuesday to you all, kj

Thank You, Another Video, AND LL Update!!

**Thank you ALL for the warm welcome back to BLOG LAND!! I will have to say...I got more sleep this past week than normal :)....It would be midnight and my only choices were to clean house or go to bed....so I chose.. GO TO BED!!! :) I did enjoy my break from it all though..AND I can't thank all my blog-high tech friends enough for all your help this past week...I have some great detective friends that might have a future in the secret service once the kids are grown :)

**I wanted to also personally thank my BLOG DESIGNER friend Jen for all her help...Jen was sent straight from heaven about a year ago when she showed up out of the blue and offered to design my blog...Since then, she's added pics when I asked, helped out friends of mine and NOW has switched over my OLD blog template ALL in about a MINUTE!! She is very talented..but most importantly she has a HEART for the orphan.... You can see her designs at http://www.theartoflivingdesigns.blogspot.com/ or visit her blog about her most recent adoption at http://www.lovelaughlearngrow.com/ Jen has just recently gotten back from China with their 4th child and has a new foundation that is near and dear to her heart...This foundation saved her daughter's life and this is what she had to say about it:

"They are called the Baobei Foundation and their website is http://www.baobeifoundation.org/. They provide life saving neurosurgeries to orphans and it is all run by volunteer Americans (all women) who live in Shanghai. They run completely on donations and they take donations for individual kids that you can sponsor under the “Urgent Needs” tab. We were fortunate enough to meet these remarkable women when we travelled to adopt our daughter and we were taken to the hospital to see the children who had been helped by this foundation. They are truly walking the walk."

(deleted pics)

She's been home now 6 months!! Wow...the time has flown by!! Every day we give thanks for our little miracle from God!!

***Here's another video our agency, AGCI just came out with....Two of LL's referral pics made the video...She looks so tiny in them :) Hope you enjoy!! (again, you'll want to pause my music at the bottom of the page)

***I'll end tonight with my Daily Devotional...Happy Monday to you all!! kj

"Each task performed with love is a tribute to God. God of love, may everything I do become an expression of your love. AMEN

Love is had only by loving. If you want love, you must begin by loving – I mean you must want to love. Once you want it, you must open the eye of your understanding to see where and how love is to be found. And you will find it within your very self.

There is one task only; the task of love. We are called b y God to live this life with love for everyone. All that we do can be an expression of God’s love. "God is here, right now. When I have lost my way, God is here. When I am found again, God is here. When all around me is chaos, God is here. When all around me is peace, God is here. When I face tragedy, God is here. When I face triumph, God is here. Thank you, God. AMEN

When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?" I've Had to Go PRIVATE!!

HI ALL!! Yes it is ME!! I've had to go private for reasons that are beyond my control right now!! Let this stand as a WARNING that someone has tried to steal my identity and has tried to impersonate my family as THEIR OWN!! They are using my information and pictures in fraudulent ways so please be careful IF someone is "saying" it is ME...because it might NOT BE!!! My intentions are NOT to scare ANYONE....but to keep all my blogging friends safe from this scam artist!! I'll miss each and every one of you, and I pray I'll be able to go back public in the future...BUT for now please pray for our family during this investigation time AND pray for this scam artist that he/she will find Jesus in their hearts!! This person can use all of us lifting him/her up in prayer!! If you'd like an "invite" to our private blog, you can leave a comment, but I'm not promising I'll be able to grant access...
Thank you again for your time, love and support!! This has been an amazing chapter in my book of life...AND, at some point...I'm hoping to make this BLOG all pretty again and still advocate for the orphan since that is what I feel God has called me to do....
All my love...and happy Saturday to you all, kj
