News on Handsome B...(and pics of our craziness :)

I received news today about "Handsome B" . It is definitely "new" news on him...just not what I was expecting....The email read that they got news from Ethiopia that Handsome B had actually been moved into an orphanage...not one that is associated with All God's Children...So, where ever the child is placed is WHO can advocate for him and adopt him out...I'm guessing that his Mom probably ended up taking him to an orphanage that had room and that is where he is sitting tonight...I did email right back asking if they KNEW WHERE and WHO he was registered with now so we could keep up with him..but I haven't heard back yet...They might not know...So, sadly we might not know what happens to Handsome B...only God knows!! Either way, I so appreciate all the caring hearts that inquired about him and IF anyone sees him on "other" waiting children's lists with other agencies...PLEASE let us know so we can follow his progress...BUT until then...we CAN all continue to pray for Handsome B and pray he finds the family God intended him to have...Maybe this was all God's plan to get him into the arms of the family that he was intended to have...maybe it is a family that is WITH another agency and wouldn't come across my AGCI lovin blog :) Only God knows...but I will continue praying for Handsome B....and I can't thank you all enough for helping us advocate for this precious child...I so hope to hear that he has a family some day..... AND, to answer some of your questions about sponsorship...this is how the email read:

"Kristi,

Thank you so much for your email and your concern for this precious child. I guess I should explain some things to make this process clearer. To begin, AGCI owns a transitional home in Ethiopia and we advocate for adoptable children. All children are processed through the government orphanage, we have no involvement in this. In order for the boy to be available for adoption, his mom had to take him to the government and participate in the abandonment process. We do not know her reasons and cannot assume that she does desire to keep him. It is possible she is HIV positive and wants to find a home for him for that reason, we just don’t know.

What’s more is that not every child can be sponsored, the government is again in control of child sponsorship and only one child can be sponsored per family. All things must go through and are decided by the government. There is no way to sponsor this boy unless it is designated through the Ethiopian government.

Furthermore, we found out from our in-country staff that the boy was moved into a specific orphanage and we no longer have the option of advocating for him. We are terribly sad about this but pray he finds his forever family soon.
"

Stay tuned for next month's waiting child........

***What are the Johnsons up to this week????

Well....let me show ya....We're getting ready for Lucy Lane's first birthday coming up this weekend....we just can't believe she is almost ONE!!! Her birthday is on Sunday, but we're celebrating with some family and friends on Saturday...The weather looks wonderful so we're looking forward to an outdoor celebration....stay tuned for lots of pics..i'm sure :)
LuLu is absolutely as busy as a bee right now...She is everywhere...She especially loves the food pantry...You can always find her crawling in here and then ONE of the other kids goes running and gives her what ever she wants....Tonight they were handing her Christmas Oreos with red filling....Did I mention that she loves her siblings??? I can't imagine why :) Caught RED HANDED!!!!! :)Here she comes out of the food pantry with the evidence all over her face...Her mouth is coated in red icing....I'm pretty sure the kids were having a party in the food pantry tonight :)

I'm trying to get her to sit long enough to catch a couple of pics SINCE a few blogging friends let me know that I hadn't posted any pics of her in something like 3 whole days...Yes, I think that broke a record since she's been home, LOL....She would never be still long enough to get a good one though tonight....

We tried each kid holding her down for a pic...but she'd just keep crawling for me....So Helen grabbed the cam and took one of us....So....the count down is on...4 more days until she is ONE...and we're cleaning house and desperately trying to get things ready around here (which is slightly hard with 5 young kids :) Oh, well...everyone I know KNOWS my house won't be STRAIGHT for a few years still :)
***Thank you again for your LOVE for Handsome B..I pray he has some how felt the prayers being lifted up for him over the past 48 hrs...If he only knew :) Happy Wednesday to you all, kj

Praying that Sweet B does find a forever family soon. Just because we may never know an outcome, doesn't mean God doesn't!!! We will have faith in that!
Hey, we are called to advocate for these precious children...God does the work :)

What we know is that prayer works so I absolutely trust that this is part of God's plan for Handsome B. All of our prayers are surely leading him to his forever family.
Keep on keepin' on.
